I had a very bad toilet bowl to clean. It was VERY neglected!! The area under the water line had a thick lime build up and was scummy. It had a bad ring at the water line and above. It was very gross! I had tried several things to no avail. I thought that I would have to resort to putting the gloves on and scrubbing with a pumice stone. ![]() So I tried this - The Works by Home Care Labs. I had used it years ago and it worked well, but I never had a toilet this bad before! I found it in the grocery store "Ingles". It has a bent top so you can squirt it up under the rim. I applied The Works and left it several hours. When I came back to it, I was able to swish the bowl with a light toilet wand and everything came off quickly. TheWorksWorks.com A Miracle! It looks GREAT! by Rosemary V Covert ![]() Those robot vacuums are not cheap. Here is an alternative. The O Cedar O Duster Robotic Floor Cleaner is available through Walmart for $31.96. It spins around dusting hardwood floors, even under furniture. The sides of the duster pad are flexible. by Rosemary V Covert ![]() This is something that I would like to try. I love microfiber. These are convenient for extracting the water from your mop. The mop head does look small, so consider the size of your floors. Walmart carries O Cedar Easy Spin Mop with bucket for $29.97 ![]() The Hurricane Spin Mop offer is 2 mops for $39.99 or two payments of $19.99 I will report again after I have a chance to evaluate. Please Leave your comments if you have tried these. Update; It looks like fun but I am not impressed. That's a lot of money for something that spins. by Rosemary V Covert ![]() There are many uses for baby wipes. These are some of the things that I have used them for:
by Rosemary V Covert ![]() There have been some cleaning recipes for cleaning showers. This is my version 1 part Dawn dish detergent * 1 part Water 2 parts Vinegar Mix into a spray bottle. Add some Hydrogen Peroxide if you would like to kill germs ( Add the Soap last so the bubbles don't fill the bottle first.) * - or use Dr Bronners Soap - available at Target by Rosemary Covert
![]() Not all cloths are equal The light blue cloth I bought at BJ's. It is 80% polyester and has an excellent what I call "drag" or grabbing when used wet. You can also find these at Walmart in the car section, though not as cheap. Walmart is about 5 for $5.00, BJ's is 25 for a pack of 25, (last time I checked). The dark blue cloth is 100% polyester that I found at a dollar store. It is only useful for dusting, no "grab" at all!! Do not you dryer sheets, softener, or bleach on any of these. |
